Life skills giving young girls in India a way see their future differently

Two motivated young girls involved with the sustainable urban centres initiative in India. The initiative works with girls living in urban poverty and functions like small self-help groups, focusing on life skills. The two girls in the photo are part of the 442 girls who started home gardens this year to help ensure they had access to food while schools (and the meals it provides) were closed due to the ongoing pandemic.

Youth receive training in nutrition, agricultural production, life skills, youth rights, hygiene and sanitation, digital literacy, and finance and business skills and participate in the creation of vegetable gardens.
