HOPE encourages you to be actively involved in the lives of the poor. Here are a few ways you can be involved...

Give – HOPE International is directly connected with people living in poor countries who have an intimate knowledge of the effects of poverty. More importantly, they have the ability and creativity to effectively fight poverty, and they are fiercely committed to doing just that. What they lack they lack is money. You have the opportunity to take action by making a donation to friends overseas who are working to bring self-reliance to the poor. Make a donation.

Volunteer – Consider volunteering your time, skills, and energy to make a difference for people in need.

• Overseas, through HOPE’s UNION program you can come to know people from a poor community by living and working alongside of them. Each year HOPE organizes groups of volunteers, or UNION teams, to participate in a community development initiative.
• In Canada, HOPE relies on volunteers to help us raise money for people overseas. You could hold a fundraising event in your community, help bring people with a 'heart for the poor' to a HOPE dinner, or volunteer in the HOPE office. Contact HOPE's Volunteer Coordinator to learn about current volunteer opportunities in Canada.

Work – From time to time, HOPE seeks qualified and committed individuals to work with us in Canada, or within one of our overseas projects when certain skills are needed but can not be sourced locally. Although opportunities are limited, you are welcome to submit a letter of interest along with a summary of your skills/qualifications to HOPE.

Build a Family Tie – Through HOPE’s Building Family Ties program, you have an opportunity to learn how your regular donations affect the lives of people overseas. HOPE can make a link between you and a specific family or child in India, Ethiopia, and the Philippines.
